Thursday 1st of August

06.46 We have woken up at Al-Hidayah Guest House in Ende. The world outside our room and the accommodation still exist. I was just out there and hung up the towel to dry. Today we are going on and if everything goes well get to Bajawa. Exactly which vehicles we will use remains to be seen.

07.15 Now, we will soon leave room 2. We’re supposed to eat breakfast. I wonder what lies ahead. Will it be Indonesian, continental, or maybe something from the Middle East, given what we have seen and experienced this? Soon, we´ll know.

07.22 I still do not know yet what it will be for breakfast. We have not been able to find the breakfast room here at the accommodation. Yesterday the check in lady pointed against a staircase. We have gone up and we just found other rooms. The next staircase led to the roof and a lot of laundry, no towels. I wonder if she instead pointed to, meant RM Salyo, the neighborhood place where we had lunch yesterday?

07.32 The check in lady appeared and we asked her. She pointed in the same manner as yesterday. It was RM Salyo that she meant. She gave us a breakfast ticket each. Now we are sitting there/here and eat rice, fried egg, chicken? and some vegetable/fruit and tea.

07.50 It was probably just a fruit and no chicken. We found large seeds in what we first thought were chicken. Now we're back in the room and it does not smell good in here. The next step will be to get ready here, check out and find a shuttle to the bus station.

08.29 Now things have happened. We went out from the guesthouse after we left the key. Our hike took us past the football field where people in red and white marched around. Was it the military or a guard parade? We talked to a few people who stood by a green bus/bemo. After some negotiating with them, we got a ride to the bus station. There, it became a struggle to get us as customers. We went with one of the more eagerly (who also looked reliable) and now the journey west towards Bajawa begun.

09.37 We travel along a winding, hilly, beautiful, and at times bumpy coastal road. Music is played at high volume. The question is whether we still have perfect hearing when this journey comes to an end. It's green and lush at the sides of our path. Bajawa will hopefully closer.

10.08 Now we stand completely still. There is a road work. I see a yellow Volvo excavator and an orange truck. We are on the road again. It's good. Less good is the fact that music here in the car has become possibly even higher.

10.30 We are looking at a volcano with a classic volcano appearance. Is it smoke or clouds that are located around the top?

Hotel Happy Happy in Bajawa.

Peter starts his visit in Bajawa with a welcome coffee.

Christer has registered our stay here.

It´s nice to sit comfortable after a few hours trip.

10.58 The roads are as mentioned earlier curvy here at Flores and although we believed ourselves to be at the finish point, it still seems to remain a bit. The beautiful volcano we´ve seen is Ebulobo 2124 meters high.

11.29 Shirts, shoes and drums. What is it? Well, it is a small group of transient and musicianship youth here in Mataloko. The journey continues.

11.41 Now it's just the driver, Christer and myself left in the car. The latest departure was that of an older gentleman. He definitely wanted to be driven until we reached a house far from the road. Some bangs were heard under the vehicle on the way there.

11.46 Out on the road again we heard a strange grinding noise from the car. The driver dropped us off at our accommodation, then examined his car before he left with various alarming sounds.

12.04 Now I am doubly pleased. On the table in front of me stands a cup of coffee. In addition, we stay in room 3 at Hotel Happy Happy (http://www.hotelhappyhappy.com). Four merry girls in shirts and brown skirts greets and waves cheerfully to us from the road. After a 3½ hour trip in the car, we´ve arrived in Bajawa, capital of the province Ngada. The hosts here at the hotel are a retired couple from the Netherlands.

Peter is eating spring rolls at Camellia Restaurant.

Christer couldn´t resist ordering soursop juice yet again.

12.50 Most of what we own has been unpacked from our backpacks to be dried and aired. It smells from the big backpacks. It is common after a month in a tropical climate. Now we're going out on the town for various tasks.

13.45 The first stop was made here in Bajawa. Christer is currently writing down our food orders on a paper here at Camellia Restaurant. We ended up here since a few other restaurants were completely full with tour groups passing through. Camellia has plenty of space. On the way here, we have taken some photos of the big volcano Inerie (2245 meters high), which is clearly visible from the town.

14.57 During lunch, I saw a man coming out of the closet, the closet as he was about to bolt the doors on. Now we sit and surf the internet at a minimum internet cafe, Warnet 31, not much more than a small shed. Imagine that soon it will end with visits to internet cafes for us.

15.50 The walk through town continued. Bajawa town center had not so many attractions but we bought drinks, withdrew money and looked at the town itself. Now we are back in the room again. Before entering here we asked about transport to the next town tomorrow. We had a promise from the owner that it would be arranged. Now we will go out to the couch outside the entrance.

Bajawa

The volcano Inerie is looking down on Bajawa.

Christer looks for shadow during our town walk.

Geography looks important at this school.

18.10 We have read in our books and enjoyed the afternoon sun. During our reading time, various guests checked in or returned from their day trips. All rooms here are actually occupied. Among other things, the Dutch couple we met in the fog the other day arrived. We also familiarized ourselves with the hotel´s happy dog. Just before we went in, two guys on motorcycles arrived. They wondered confusedly whether this was Bajawa, something we could confirm. They went in to check in but were told that it was full. This did not disappoint them too much. They had received tips on other places. One of them had a small camera on his helmet. Our hostess has announced that our car will be here tomorrow at 09.00. Perfect!

19.41 This is unacceptable. We can not remain here any longer! We have to get out before the restaurants close. It's time for today’s, tonight's dinner.

19.53 The first two restaurants were not closed, however, almost crammed. In the first place, Dito, we were offered to sit at a small table together with another company. We decided instead to return to the Camellia where we had a delicious lunch before.

20.50 We left 5 000 rupiah as tip to the nice waitress. During dinner two Germans went out and smoked. Germans are always civilized and follow the rules. Now we are back in our rooms. It's a bit chilly tonight. We're at 1100 altitude here in Bajawa.

22.18 The judgment has fallen! The skilled has spoken. There is +16ºC outside. Possibly this is among the coldest we have experienced in the tropics.

22.49 A nice day in Bajawa has reached its end. The town itself does not have much to offer. It is mostly a base for exciting excursions to traditional villages and volcanoes. For us it has been a nice stop and an overnight stay at one of the nicest hotels we stayed at. Happy Happy lives up to its name . Here it´s orderly, clean and fresh, with beautiful colours and a nice patio.

We got a dog visit during the afternoon.

I run this hotel!

Relaxing in the afternoon sun.

At dinner we returned to Camellia Restaurant.

Friday 2nd of August

07.01 It's nice having your own bed. But even a comfortable bed must be left. I do not think the hosts would appreciate it if I remained in bed or took it with me.

08.05 A hearty breakfast is everything if you’re travelling. It also plays an important roll in the overall assessment of an accommodation. Today's breakfast was hearty and the overall impression of the Hotel Happy Happy is very good. I will not recite what we had. It is written enough about food anyway.

08.51 We are waiting for our transport from here. With us on the porch are the happy dog and two young female tourists from India and Brazil. They are having breakfast. They're heading eastwards on Flores and will see what we have already seen. We are heading in the direction they came from. We have exchanged various experiences from our travels and told the ladies about our trip in Brazil three years ago.

09.26 Instead of sitting in a car as planned we are instead sitting still on the patio/porch. However, there is nothing to worry about yet.

09.34 Our Dutch hostess sat down beside me. She just announced that our driver will have ten minutes left. If he is not here then she will find another solution for us. Apparently the driver is out to pick up more passengers somewhere.

09.44 The time’s up. The hostess will stop a bemo (minibus) to us so that we can get to the main road where the buses pass.

Here you are being welcomed to the city of Bajawa. However, we have just left it.

Christer asks about transport to Ruteng.

We are going with a yellow vehicle today.

09.50 A bemo was stopped, boarded and drove us a little bit. Now we are waiting at a bus stop-like building. We are at the entrance to Bajawa, the place where the Trans Flores Highway passes. We have no track of bus schedules or transportation facilities. You just have to wait and see.

10.17 After we failed to go with some cars we can now say, Ruteng here we come! A vehicle with the destination arrived and took us aboard. It does not get to the door but so what. Big thanks to the helpful locals who asked passing vehicles where they were going and helped us finding the right.

12.24 Our next home is waiting in the west. According to the road marking it remains 164 km to something, hopefully it's tomorrow's city. If that’s the case, then it is even less left to today's goal.

12.48 Now things have happened. A sack has fallen from the vehicle roof. The driver has also begun to play music, but not as loud as yesterday. Moreover, we are waiting at yet another road repair project. We were travelling on rough gravel. Now return the tarmac, but we are not there we want to be yet!

13.05 First, the car needed more fuel and now a little later we stopped in Borong so the occupants of the vehicle should also get top up with energy in a small restaurant. I do not eat or stand still. I want to arrive!

13.43 Now we have left Borong. I hope that our next stop will be our last.

14.12 Our journey is towards higher altitude. We meander our way through the forested mountains. Nature is beautiful here. That includes large bamboo forests on the slopes.

We are waiting to be checked in and for our room to be ready.

We are staying in a wooden hotel. Here is our room.

View from Rima Hotel.

15.09 A portal has greeted us welcome to Ruteng and we have stopped at a deserted bus station/terminal. A smoking young man and a ditto lad stepped in and talked to the passengers. The young man also carries a pair of scissors. Now they stepped out and we can continue.

15.22 The driver was informed of where we will stay. He stopped and dropped us at the side of the road right by Rima Hotel. Now we are sitting in separate wicker chairs and waiting to check-in.

15.33 It is nice to be here said Christer. I do agree with him. The room number is 8A. Now it will be nice to pack up and get in the shower.

16.06 After some hassle we got the water heater in the bathroom to work. Now warm water flows from the shower and down over Christer. The shower whose head/ spray or whatever it is called sometimes come loose from the hose. Something else that is loose is the handle to the bathroom door. Now a bang was heard from inside the bathroom. What has happened?

16.09 I 'm back! What had happened was that the sink suddenly came loose from the wall and shattered on the floor. This happened while Christer showered. Now the questions pile up. What the hell is going on? What will happen next? Will the floor remain solid? Did the basin commit suicide since Christer preferred the shower?

16.32 Now the damage has been reported to the reception. The young lady from there, that probably at first did not realize what had happened, just did a visual inspection. Now she tries to get hold of the manager. We have been asked to wait. Not good, we want to be out and look around the city instead.

Our sink killed itself and Christer just managed to escape.

Shopping at Nirwana supermarket.

On the way home after taking a look at Ruteng.

16.47 A semi boss has been here. We are free to go out and see more of Ruteng. The semi boss said he and a technician had checked all the bathrooms a little while ago. He also said he’ll check with his boss. A guy in the orange shirt has been contracted to clean up in here.

17.26 There was a short walk, more of the usual cries of "Hello Mister!” and ”Where are you going? ”, We have done some buys in the grocery store Nirwana . On the way home we were joined by the guy in the orange shirt. We talked about a little of everything. He said people around here are married and sometimes have children as soon as they are 16 years old. He thought it was not good. We agree. Now we surf a little on the internet. There is an internet cafe in the hotel itself. At the store we bought beer. How do we keep them cold? We can of course add those in our sink, but we don’t have one. Not solid at least.

18.47 After surfing, we booked a shuttle tomorrow. Now we're back in room 8A. Our sink or at least parts of it is in the trash. It is time to go out and have dinner.

19.55 We just returned home after a light meal. It was good but at times terribly spicy. Ruteng has certainly many good sides but no one can accuse the city to have plenty of restaurants. Although this city is situated at a high altitude and the evening air was quite chilly, it reminded us of summer evenings at home. Now, the day tied together and tomorrow scrutinized.

21.08 Tomorrow is easily planned. On the bedside table there are two Bintang beers. Mine will soon be opened.

22.17 There's someone speaking Spanish on the other side of the wall. Is it that women there talking unusually high or is it thin walls? In the absence of basin we did our brushing of teeth over the toilet seat. Water was taken from the small toilet shower. Flexibility and ingenuity are important in the backpacker world. In a week I'm home again.

Rima Hotel, Ruteng.

Our friend Björn is sitting at home in Sundsvall quoting Dagerman. He doesn´t know that it is visible in Ruteng.

Saturday 3rd of August

07.03 The morning is here in our wooden hotel in Ruteng. They still speak Spanish next door. It is cool inside the room, around +16ºC, the same temperature as outside. We certainly had colder rooms but that thought brings us no heat.

07.52 We have received terrible news. It's another tragic event. There will be no coffee for breakfast, there will be tea. There are people smoking not far from us. Can’t they go to the balcony railing? Or why not go over it?

08.08 It was not the most stable and steady of breakfasts, two slices of French bread with a fried egg between them. The semi boss has announced that the boss aka his father is sorry for the washbasin incident. The son and the technician will check all sinks again during the day.

08.28 Strange things continue to happen at the hotel. First at breakfast and now just verging on entering the room was a young man who wanted to sell cloths or whatever it was. Should not be left alone at the dining table or even in the room? No, now I want to carry on.

08.54 Flores Mountain Tours is written on the orange mini bus just rolled away with us. The wing man, copilot, bus host have inquired about the destination, the hotel we will be staying on in the next city and our origin.

Peter is having a light breakfast at Rima Hotel.

Heading west!

A brief stop on the journey from Ruteng to Labuan Bajo.

09.15 The bus still goes round and round here in Ruteng has swung into ever narrower roads/streets. Now we stand still while idling among some houses. Curious children pass and look at the vehicle. The driver with the friend has moved away. However, we are not completely alone; other passengers were picked up on the way here.

09.32 The old man/first driver seems to have left us. The bus host is now running the vehicle. We have been and turned and are now back at the same place where we just were.

09.40 Driving things are back in order, more have made themselves ready, entered and we are on our way. We go with what is called "travel" here in Indonesia. It involves filling a car or a minibus with passengers and drive all from door to door. It is more expensive than regular buses, but very good to be picked up where you are and be chauffeured exactly where you should be. The downside is that it can take frightful time before all to be picked up and dropped off.

10.01 More stops have been made and more passengers have boarded. One of the newcomers, a boy, is truly sorry and he was crying hysterically. The whole wide family stood and waved to him as he drove away with a relative.

10.16 I hope that we are finally seriously on the road. The bus host has got off, said goodbye to us and departed.

11.47 The bus has stopped to drop off a woman, a boy and a hen. The hen was in a woman's bags.

12.26 There is a lunch break in Lempor. I make sure to make up for what I missed this morning. I have ordered coffee at R.M. Mono Seneng.

12.53 Why can´t people eat before leaving? How long will this take? Why do people enter the bus to smoke? Hey, now, more got on board. Shall we go now? Great with coffee by the way! A bit sweet and marshy but still coffee.

14.16 The sea has been sighted in the distance and we have begun to travel downhill. One of the other passengers has just vomited out through the open window. It did not go well. Some of it blew back and landed on his right arm. Motion sickness ravages here on Flores which most likely has not a single straight road. There are bends all over the island.

14.58 We have reached our journey’s last Indonesian city, Labuan Bajo on Flores west coast. Now we only transport to the last property in this country. Labuan Bajo is one of Indonesia's fastest growing cities. It is inter alia main center for tourism to the islands of Komodo and Rinca populated by the Komodo dragons.

Our room is behind this green door at Pagi Hotel.

Many vehicles on a narrow street.

Small businesses in Labuan Bajo.

15.16 All passengers were given a ride to the door. At a stop, it was some cattle. The older grazed quietly on but the calf looked curiously at vehicles and passengers. We were the last out of the bus and have now checked into Pagi Hotel and here we are in room 202. The hotel is fairly new and very clean and fresh. It is beautifully painted with green and white.

15.56 Just imagine how little is needed to make the single spark burst into flames. Today it was just stepping into the shower and pour water over the torso. Soon we will head out and have lunch.

16.24 A very late lunch is ordered. We are at the Mata Hari Restaurant. On the terrace where we sit, we have a sea view. The sun it glitters in ebb water. Out in the ocean we see different rounded islands. On one of those we can see farthest, Rinca, are those Komodo dragons. The idyll is disturbed here unfortunately that someone saw in the metal somewhere nearby.

17.21 It was a good lunch who could be really cheap. The waitress counted 30 000 wrong. 95 000 rupiah suddenly became 65 000. I told them and we paid the correct amount. Now its time for internet. It's terrible hot here in the internet café RP Net.

17.46 We've walked further along the main street here in Labuan Bajo. It really shows that tourism is big here. There are travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, dive shops, transport and much more in a never-ending variety. Many places have patios in the direction of the sunset which will soon be here.

The boat harbour in Labuan Bajo.

Christer is having a late lunch with beautiful surroundings at Mata Hari Restaurant.

A cat is enjoying life.

The sun is preparing for the sunset.

17.56 The little café Bajo Bakery will arrange afternoon coffee for us. We have sat down in comfortable chairs on their patio. Another cloth seller just pasted. We are still uninterested in making any purchases.

18.26 The coffee and pastries were enjoyed and paid for. It has become dark even on this day. Before this happened, we tried to photograph the sunset. The result was not so good unfortunately.

18.58 We went back to the hotel and bought some things at the grocery store on the ground floor of the hotel. It was bought drinks and I bought a journal to use on next trip. Christer also purchased various exciting sauces and spice mixtures that he will be testing when cooking at home.

20.43 The last dinner in Indonesia is ordered. We're at the Italian restaurant Made in Italy and ordered pizza. On the table are two small, narrow glasses with a red sauce and a bread stick of Italian model, grissini. I do not know if the sauce is strong, not yet anyway.

21.56 The sauce was a decent pizza sauce. The pizzas were heavenly good, among if not the tastiest I've had on any trip. Now we are back in the room again. The evening should end and tomorrow will be planned.

We had dinner at the excellent Italian restaurant "Made in Italy".

Sunday 4th of August

07.40 Never before have we spent so many days in the same country, 40 days. Never before have we slept in so many cities in the same country, 24. But now everything is almost over. We have slept great in excellent beds here at Pagi Hotel.

08.23 The breakfast was eaten a little unexpected atop the hotel roof where there was a small restaurant. In addition to breakfast, we had thus a great view and could take some photos of the view towards the sea.

08.59 The last breakfast is finished. The last room has been paid for. The last Indonesia taxi is ordered. There was some misunderstanding between us and the one in charge. The person understood which room number we had and where we wanted to travel.

09.19 Now we've packed everything we want and have to bring home with us. Only hours are left of our time in the country. Is it now the journey home takes its definite beginning, the journey home I felt premonitions of this other morning when we left Moni.

09.25 The stay in Labuan Bajo is also the end of our journey through the mountainous island of Flores. There have been very beautiful nature views. We have seen volcanoes and beautiful views but the trips have worn on us and the speed has been slow. Overall, we have been travelling 510 kilometers on these winding roads.

The lobby of Pagi Hotel provides a church-like impression.

View from the hotel roof.

It´s here you are having breakfast at Pagi Hotel.

The staff sit so low that the hotel reception looks empty.

09.33 The driver takes a puff, change gear and navigate up the curvy uphill. The sun is shining from a blue sky, a blue sky we soon will be closer to. It was not easy for hotel staff to find us a taxi and we don’t go with one. It is rather a man who was persuaded to drive us for money.

09.48 It got quick to come out to the small airport. A new terminal is being built but we ended up in the old one. Without problems, we passed the first security checkpoint. Now we are waiting to check-in. It is a small airport to say the least.

10.27 The check in counter opened and our fellow passengers and we checked in. Most went well regarding the payment of the departure tax. However the gentlemen there, for some reason, did not want to return our boarding passes with tax patch on. They looked at us and so on patches. There was laughter and patches handed to us. We passed another security check. Some of our fellow passengers seem to without problems been able to bring along water and liquid past the two security checkpoints. A lady has brought a five liter can of around four gallons of iced tea-like liquid. Is it so that the ban on liquids on board is lifted or do they not follow the rules here?

11.41 We are still in the departure hall and are waiting to hear that we can board. The departure time we have is 12.05. Sure, we have plenty of time at level change in Denpasar but I want to get away. It's getting hot in here. Not far from us is a Danish-Swedish family. The woman and the children speak Swedish, the man speaks Danish.

11.57 The plane just landed, we’ll be able to leave with it. Now it only needs to be emptied of passengers and baggage before we and our luggage can come on board. A larger French-speaking group, lead by a man in a yellow shirt, has entered the departure hall. One has a shirt with a pattern which reminiscent of a curtain from the 70´s. A lady has a hair colour that makes us think of Pippi Longstocking. In the row in front of us the Danish-Swedish family sit down. The teenage daughter is totally focused on her mobile! Unexpectedly!

We are waiting for our flight.

Tourist information about the region we´re leaving today.

Once again we are flying with Wings Air.

12.21 We boarded our aircraft, around 35 minutes late. Now I hope it goes smooth to get away.

13.59 We have, around half an hour late, again landed at Denpasar airport, Ngurah Rai International Airport. We are again on Bali. We will go by bus to the arrival terminal. In three hours, we are up in the air again, this time with a former airport in sight.

14.15 We are waiting at the luggage carousel. All we have seen is a man who arrived with a luggage cart and loaded the luggage on the belt. We have also seen a man resembling the Swedish national coach in ice hockey, Pär Mårts, he is however speaking French. Wait, is Pär Mårts not Père mort, Father Death, in French? Here come the first bags, wait again, aren’t they the luggage that man with the luggage cart put there.

14.29 The backpacks came and we walked out of the arrival section. A stubborn taxi man was desperate to drive us. We said that we will soon be flying to Singapore. Then the stubborn man softened and advised us to leave the backpacks at a left luggage place and take a little tour with him. We thanked him for the tip, but are not likely to follow it. Now we're back at the restaurant Bakso Malang. It was here we had the last meal with Patricia and Susan a week ago.

15.02 Lunch is over. Christer are checking for flight time and seating at Starbucks. Flies swarms around our less but fresh backpacks. This does not feel good.

15.34 As is the tradition we've sat down at Starbucks to drink hearty cups of coffee. As a Starbucks tradition they have written our names on the mugs. Well names and names, this time we are Pitter and Crish. Why on earth are they writing the names? You do not need to give his name or show identification at the disclosure. If we count the airport as Denpasar then this is yet another Starbucks town. We have, If counting so, been at Starbucks in more cities in Indonesia than in any other country before.

We drank juice to kill some time and because it tastes good.

Ngurah Rai International Airport from the inside.

16.17 The coffee was drunk and we proceeded towards the international terminal. Now we have made a pit stop at Café By Karyadi to refresh us with juice.

16.50 Some small reflections of life. Why is it sometimes so difficult to get a waitress/waiter's attention? Why do people stub out their cigarette on the holder for toilet paper? It leaves burn marks. Do they do so at home and with friends too? Sure, some holders have ashtray but not all.

17.04 It’s almost time to check in our big backpacks. Departure approaches.

17.59 The last notes have been handed over in exchange for prospective gifts and right now consumed beverages. Some notes are saved to be exchanged, the Red Cross gifts and personal collecting. It's almost time to go to our gate. It's going really well for us here at the airport.

18.21 Before the gate, it is a security check. Before it is a queue. Between the two is a locked door. Why is it locked? Without the open door there will be no security check. Without security control there will be no gate and no flight.

18.36 The queue has come to a standstill. One of the standing has a straw hat and a blue shirt that says GIF Sundsvall on, it is the soccer team from Christer’s home town. The plane is at least one quarter delayed. New departure time is 19.10. But we need to be onboard for it to take off. Why are we waiting in the queue instead of at our gate? To aggravate the situation further is our place in the queue directly by the air-conditioning system that seems to have the turbo on. It’s really cold where we stand.

18.54 There are about fifteen minutes to departure and we are still standing still. There are security people on the other side of the locked door. They are not at the equipment nut sitting further away on a bench. We want to get away. Flight time is 2,5 hours. The last train towards central Singapore goes from the airport at midnight. We also hope to have dinner before that.

19.06 Rule number one in our travelling, never be satisfied! Are you satisfied and say it openly then the backlash as a letter in the mail, amen in church. This is what has happened. The plane is significantly delayed. New departure time is 20.10. It gives us a landing in Singapore at 22.45. In addition, passport checks, baggage retrieval and customs passage. This will probably take at least 30 minutes. If we want to catch the train we will not have enough time to eat after we landed. So we have to eat here and now.

We are flying from Bali to Singapore.

19.34 There will be no dinner here. We and the other passengers on the two flights to Singapore were asked to pass the security check. There was a careful look at the wine I bought as a gift before it was returned to me. Now we are at the gate and have no idea what we do on arrival. It makes no sense to plan things that have not yet occurred.

20.20 More and more people come aboard Air Mandala´s flight to Singapore. We booked our trip with Tiger Airways but the sister company Mandala is running this route. When will we be there? The plane actually has row 13 on board, it is unusual. The airline’s from Singapore. They are modern and have perhaps moved on from such superstition or the view on superstition is different.

22.38 The landing is scheduled for 23.00. When we come we´ll let everything take its course. There will hardly be any trains to Bugis station. It is likely to become food at Changi Airport before the taxi takes us to the accommodation Sleepy Kiwi Hostel. Once there, we´ll plan for tomorrow. We have a private room booked and a bunk bed waiting for us. Will there be a problem then it is a 24-hour reception at the hostel rooftop. This will probably be fine.

SINGAPORE

23.30 It's time for summation at Changi Airport. At 23.10 we left the gate. After a quick walk, passport check and baggage retrieval, we reached the destination at 23.20. After relieving pressure and bank accounts, we reached the escalators to the metro at 23.30. There, we were met by the news that the last train of the day just left. Now we´ve looked for a place to eat. Christer just came with a positive response.

23.56 The last time we were in Singapore, August 11, 2006, we went to Burger King for dinner. Then we were in town and had just before check-in. Now we are at the airport. Next to the burgers is a taxi ride away. Now it should be eaten. We are famished and ordered the biggest burgers.

Midnight meal at Burger King.
